Bulb Recycling

Different types of bulbs are recycled differently in Washington State; many locations accept bulbs at no charge, but some do charge a fee, and some limit the number of bulbs that can be dropped off by household or by day.   Multiple resources for dropping off bulbs for recycling or proper disposal are available.  Select below by your location to find organizations that accept bulbs:

UW Seattle Campus     |     King County     |     Snohomish County     |     Pierce County

With the exception of UW Seattle recycling, the information on this page is for household recycling.   To make your bulb recycling or disposal experience fast and efficient, we recommend that you:

  1. Call ahead! Make sure the business accepts your bulb types and is open at a time that is convenient for you.  Confirm the recycling fee (if any) for your bulbs.
  2. Know that many businesses offer pick-up of a large volume of total items for a small fee.
