Battery Recycling

Battery Recycling

Different types of batteries are recycled differently in Washington State; many locations accept batteries at no charge, but some do charge a fee and some limit the number of batteries that can be dropped off by household or by day.   Multiple resources for dropping off batteries for recycling or proper disposal are available.  Select below by your location to find organizations that accept batteries:

UW Seattle Campus     |     King County     |     Snohomish County     |     Pierce County

With the exception of UW Seattle recycling, the information on this page is for household recycling.   To make your battery recycling or disposal experience fast and efficient, we recommend that you:

  1. Call ahead! Make sure the business accepts your battery types and is open at a time that is convenient for you.  Confirm the recycling fee (if any) for your batteries.
  2. Know that many businesses offer pick-up of a large volume of total items for a small fee.
